  • Dimensions:  large board is 19 in. H x 8 in. W x 0.75 in. D; smaller board is 17.5 in. H x 7.5 in. W x 0.75 in. D; together 19 in. H x 14.3 in. W

SMOLArt is a group of artists who live in the rural village of Tabaka, Kenya, the heart of soapstone crafts. As members of the WFTO, they ensure artisans are paid a fair price for their work. In addition, the organization supports community development by contributing to projects that improve living conditions, education, and health of their members and village members.

Artisans use household items from screwdrivers, hand drills, to switchblades, to sword-like tools to cleave the stone in the mines.
