How to choose a Guitar Pick?

What is this wonderful instrument for guitar playing today knows everyone, including people far from music. It is a small size plate: flat, thin, with an elongated and slightly pointed tip. It looks very simple to the outside eye, but it has very important features that a musician should know about to be able to choose the right plectrum for his or her individual guitar playing. So what are the features of the player that you should pay most attention to?

Guitar Pick - The material of manufacture

Knowing the material of the plectrum, an experienced musician can immediately assess the comfort and durability of such a product. In addition, the material will have a direct impact on the sound of the musical instrument. Let's consider the most basic of them.

Plastic.Immediately note that in today's market of musical goods, the most widely represented picks, made of plastic. This is due to their affordable price in accordance with all the basic requirements for these products. Their main drawback - fragility. Quick wear and breakage of plastic picks will force the musician to change them more often.

Celluloid.Immediately note that in today's market of musical goods, the most widely represented picks, made of plastic. This is due to their affordable price in accordance with all the basic requirements for these products. Their main drawback - fragility. Quick wear and breakage of plastic picks will force the musician to change them more often.

Lexan.Immediately note that in today's market of musical goods, the most widely represented picks, made of plastic. This is due to their affordable price in accordance with all the basic requirements for these products. Their main drawback - fragility. Quick wear and breakage of plastic picks will force the musician to change them more often.

Nylon.Immediately note that in today's market of musical goods, the most widely represented picks, made of plastic. This is due to their affordable price in accordance with all the basic requirements for these products. Their main drawback - fragility. Quick wear and breakage of plastic picks will force the musician to change them more often.

"Branded" materials. To this conditional group we refer products made of materials patented by individual firms (for example, the rights to use varieties of plastic "Tortex" and "Ultex" belong to one of the world's largest chemical companies "DuPont"). Both modifications are stronger than conventional plastic, plus they have a number of additional differences. "Tortex" is somewhat similar to a turtle shell in its surface features, and "Ultex" is an immaculately smooth and glossy material. After their acclaim, the rest of the manufacturers have also started to make plectrums from this material, only changing their name. "D'Addario, in fact, makes the same "Tortex," but under the name "Cortex," and Clayton produces "Ultex" picks, giving their series the name "Ultem. Another popular "proprietary" material "Delrin" (or "Acetal") is high-strength polyformaldehyde. Their "highlight" is the characteristic crisp, clicking sound when the plectrum comes in contact with the guitar strings.

Bone.Let's not beat around the bush and say bluntly: bone picks are considered to be extra-class picks. It is absolutely unbending products, characterized by increased strength characteristics. Hence the explanation for the high price range.

Metal.Metal picks are the strongest and most resonant. However, many guitarists are discouraged by the fact that they cause the strings to wear out much faster than when using selections made of alternative materials. Another unpleasant thing is the risk of scratching the guitar itself.

Common Questions & Answers:

Q: Will my string pop more often from using it?
A: No. Surprisingly, it puts less tension on the strings than heavy metal style picking would. In over 5 years of using it, we only saw one string pop and that string was 8 months old and heavily used already.

Q: Which instruments does it work best on?
A: It works best on Guitars, Bass, Mandolin, Ukulele, Banjo and in general works great on all fretted instruments. We have seen people use it on open Piano strings, Cello, Violin and other instruments, which was very cool to see and hear.

Q: What is it made of?
A: It's made of Nylon, which is a very good resonating material and a bit of other materials that add some extra weight and durability. It is 100% solid and has no hollow spots.

Q: What does it weigh?
A: One Guitar Triller weighs 23 Grams. So for example: a Pencil weighs about 4 Grams and a Drumstick weighs about 57 Grams.

Q: How durable is Guitar Triller?
A: Guitar Triller will never break and will remain functional for life! One of our most used Guitar Trillers is over 5 years old with over 1,000 hours of Trilling time on it, on both guitar and bass and it still works perfectly. These things are made to last forever!

Q: How easy or difficult is it to use?
A: It's very intuitive and natural. After just a few minutes, most players that already know how to play will be playing cool things with it. For complete beginners, its just like learning to use a pick or your fingers, it takes the same amount of time to learn to pick, pluck, or trill.

Fender Guitar Amps overview

All about the famous classicsFender Amps - for more than 70 years now, amplifiers have been an integral part of the world's rehearsal rooms, studios and stages. Whether 100 watt top or 15 watt combo, Fender Amps are available for all applications and in all price ranges.

Fender Amps: Classics that made history

Founded in 1946 as Fender Musical Instruments Corporation Inc. by Leo Fender, the brand is now widely known and famous under the name "Fender". When the company was founded, it specialized in the sale and repair of musical instruments and sound systems. Together with Doc Kaufmann, Leo Fender developed the first "Fender Amps". In 1946 Doc Kaufmann retired from the company and Fender built the first Fender Amps (the Deluxe, the Princeton and the Professional), which were especially sought after by country music musicians with their lap-steel guitars.

Acoustic Guitar Amps Over the years, Fender Musical Instruments Corporation Inc. has established many different types of guitar amps. Some of these amplifiers have become cult, partly because of their unmistakable warm sound and partly because many of the guitar virtuosos presented Fender amps on the big stages.

Various "series" of Fender amps

Since the 1950s, various "series" of Fender amps have been created with different names. These primarily describe the appearance of the amplifiers, but also allow conclusions to be drawn about their manufacturing period and the slightly modified electronic circuitry of the amps. Tweed The amp with probably the most characteristic vintage cloth cover of the Fender series. The early series was already produced in the 40s and 50s. Blonde The name describes the bright exterior color of the amp. The series with famous representatives like "Bass-" or "Showman" was produced between 1960 and 1964. Brownface "Brownface" stands for the color of the control panel. The outer color varied between very light, similar to the "Blonde" series, and brown. They were mainly produced between 1959 and 1963. Blackface This series contained some other very famous Fender amps, like the Twin Reverb. For the first time the distinctive silver grilles were also introduced into the Fender series. The production period stretched from 1963 to the early 1968s. Silverface Fender "Silveface Amps" were created between 1967 and 1981 and got their name from the brushed aluminum front panel.

The most famous Fender Amps and their special features

Here is an overview of the most famous Fender Amp classics - including exciting facts, guitarists who played them and when they were made!

Fender 1965 Twin Reverb (Blackface)

The Fender Twin Reverb in the Blackface version from 1965 is definitely one of the most iconic Fender amps. The overwhelming variety of sound, in combination with the integrated spring reverb, makes this amp interesting for many music genres. Among them surf, blues, classic and psychedelic rock to name just a few. Due to the immense volume of the amp, it can be used for the big stages without restrictions. The '65 model is of course very rare these days and is available only in a price range that few can afford. But unlike Fender guitars, which lost a lot of quality when CBS took over Fender Musical Instruments Corporation Inc. The amp was and is played by greats like Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jack White, Gary Clark and Steve Howe.

Fender Hot Rod Deluxe IV

Since 1996, the Hot Rod Deluxe has been convincing with its three channels, two independent inputs and an integrated reverb. Fender Hot Rod Deluxe IV one of the best amp for telecaster guitar. Another unique selling point of the Hot Rod is its extensive possibilities for adjusting the sound shape. The enormous headroom in clean and the good response compared to effect pedals make it a perfect amp for classic rock as well as jazz. Nevertheless, the Hot Rod is not error-free either. In some areas you might wish for more clarity from this amp. Also the lack of a master volume control makes it difficult for many guitarists to achieve a natural overdrive of the tubes at moderate volume. The Hot Rod Deluxe was played by legends like George Benson, who launched his own signature model.

Fender 1968 Custom Deluxe Reverb

This amp is also perfect for use with effect pedals, but at the same time has absolutely no need for them. It is an extremely versatile amp, which also stands out for its light weight in comparison. The very well balanced mids and brilliant highs make it an almost perfect studio amp. It is said that this Fender amp has a little too little power with 22 watts. However, this also enables it to produce a rich clean sound without having to accept compromises. Guitarists like John Mayer or Trey Anastasio often preferred this amp.

Fender 1959 Bassman

This amp was originally designed for bass players and was developed in 1952 into an amp that was especially appreciated by guitarists for its special sound. The most famous representative of the series is probably the 4 x10 tweed version. The sound has a very strong dynamic, combined with brilliant highs and rich basses, which can be heard even at moderate volume. But the real magic only comes to light when the Volume Poti is fully turned up. Then the sound becomes extremely pithy and dynamic. The most famous musicians who paid tribute to the Bassman are Eric Clapton, Jimmie Vaughan and John Fogerty, among others.

Fender Amps: Legends of Music History

Fender has reached the masses like almost no other company, both with its amps and guitars. Many of the amps presented here have now achieved legend status. Their unmistakable sound still makes many guitarists rave about them today. Together with their prominent owners, they made history in many different musical genres. Even though most of these amps are almost priceless, there are high-quality alternatives. These are often much more affordable and have undergone small changes compared to the older models, making them more flexible and playable for today's time - without robbing them of the charm of days gone by. Of course purists swear by the original models. But you should not neglect the current Fender amps and give them a chance to prove themselves.
